Chasing the first hit.

Posted in Web Video by davidsinatra on June 20, 2008

In 2004, anywhere from 20 to 30 young heroine addicts lived in a ninth floor apartment on Fifth Ave. in Manhattan. Jessica Dimmock spent three years photographing documenting the crew within this drug den. She had unrestrained access to their most intimate moments.

I remember leaning back. And I was on a cloud. And there was not a worry in this world. It just relaxes you. Takes away any of the concern. No fears. No worries. It doesn’t do that forever. After awhile you’re just doing it to stay straight, to stay normal. And you’re not getting the same effects anymore. And then that’s why they say you’re chasing, the first hit. Cause then you’re just doing it to try and get that same feeling that you got in the beginning. But you never really get that. You may get glimpses from time to time. But you never really get that.

MediaStorm is a project by Brian Storm (formerly of Corbis Images and MSNBC) aiming to usher in the next generation of multimedia storytelling.

The first time I opened this page, I was sitting at my desk at work, and I thought I unwittingly made a typo — your damn blog looks like a porn site! Your blog screams: “hey guys, welcome to LapDance, the desirable destination to view the HOTTEST new pr0n from your favorite destitute derelicts! Want the latest GOSSIP! from Cindy’s recent overdose? Do you just LOVE! Mindy’s new leprechaun tattoo? Can’t get enough of Jonny’s battle with diarreah? If the answer to these questions is YES!, look no further, LapDance has your cravings covered!”

I thought I was going to be fired on the spot.
